A stampede broke out during a huge crowd of devotees at the famous religious place Mansa Devi temple in Uttarakhand on Sunday morning, in which 6 people have been confirmed dead so far. Many other devotees have also been injured in this tragic accident, who are being treated in local hospitals.
It is being told that suddenly the news of a high voltage electric wire falling on the way to the temple spread. After this there was chaos and later there was a stampede among the devotees. Relief and rescue work is going on.
An injured person said, “Suddenly a huge crowd gathered there and a stampede broke out. During this I fell and broke my hand.”
On the stampede, Haridwar SSP Pramod Singh Dobal said, “We received information about some people being injured, after which the police took immediate action. About 35 people were brought to the hospital, out of which 6 have been confirmed dead. The rest are undergoing treatment. Initial investigation has revealed that the stampede occurred due to rumors of electric shock on the stairs about 100 meters below the temple road.
