Five Congress MPs suspended from Lok Sabha, will not be able to participate in the entire session

The winter session of Parliament continues. On Thursday, action was taken against 5 Congress MPs. He has been suspended from the Lok Sabha. They will not be able to participate in the remaining part of the session. The MPs who were suspended are TN Prathapan, Hibi Eden, Jotimani, Ramya Haridas and Dean Kuriakose.
These MPs were suspended for disrespect towards the chair. Earlier today, Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien was suspended from the Rajya Sabha.
Let us tell you that the issue of lapse in security of Parliament was raised in both the Houses of Parliament on Thursday. Opposition MPs created ruckus. Opposition members demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Amid the uproar, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 3 pm as opposition MPs continued their protest.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi addressed the House before the adjournment and stressed the need for a non-political approach to strengthen security protocols. He said that the Lok Sabha Speaker held a meeting with all the floor leaders and heard their solutions to further strengthen the security in Parliament. Some of the suggestions given have already been implemented. No politics should be done on this issue.
Action against Derek O’Brien also
Trinamool Congress member Derek O’Brien was suspended for indecent conduct. As soon as the proceedings of the Upper House started at 12 noon after a one-time adjournment, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar took the name of O’Brien and started the proceedings of his suspension.
When the Chairman takes the name of a member, it means the beginning of the proceedings of suspension of the member. This happens when a member is disrespecting the authority of the Chair or misusing the rules of the House by persistently and deliberately obstructing the work of the House.
Dhankhar announced, Derek O’Brien is suspended for the remainder of this season. After this announcement, the opposition members came near the podium and started raising slogans like dictatorship will not continue and Derek’s suspension will not be tolerated. Amidst the uproar, the Chairman tried to start the Question Hour. However, sloganeering by opposition members continued. Therefore, the Chairman adjourned the proceedings of the House at 12.05 pm till 2 pm.
