More than 480 houses have been damaged due to rain and storm in Meghalaya. State Disaster Management Minister Kirmen Shayla gave this information on Monday.
Shayla said that 483 houses, two schools and a church have been damaged in this natural disaster. At the same time, 949 people have been affected.
The minister said that seven out of 12 districts of the state have been affected by this disaster, out of which East West Khasi Hills had to bear the brunt of the disaster.
“Steps are being taken by all deputy commissioners and development block officers so that people can get some relief,” Shayla said.
