अजमेर: डिग्गी मार्केट में होटल में लगी भीषण आग, 4 की मौत

A tragic incident took place in Ajmer’s Diggi Bazar area this morning. A massive fire broke out in the Naaz Hotel located here at around 8 am. By the time the pilgrims staying in the hotel could understand anything, the flames had engulfed the entire building. The fire spread so fast that people did not even get a chance to escape. In the screams, the struggle to save lives and the chaos everywhere, people also tried to jump from the windows to save their lives.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire that started after the AC burst reached the upper floors in a short time. Meanwhile, a mother trapped in the fire threw her one and a half year old child down from the window when she saw no way to escape. However, the people standing below somehow caught the child, which saved his life but he suffered minor burns. So far 4 people have died in the accident, while 5 people including the innocent have suffered burns. The injured have been admitted to Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, where their treatment is going on.

Even the fire brigade vehicles could not reach this five-storey hotel located in the narrow streets on time and reached with a delay of half an hour. By then it was too late. During the rescue operation, many firemen and policemen also fainted due to smoke and heat.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police force including Additional Superintendent of Police Himanshu Jangid reached the spot and relief and rescue work was started. This accident has once again raised big questions on hotel safety standards because Naz Hotel neither had adequate fire fighting equipment nor any emergency plan.
