A major accident took place in the Azad Market area of the country’s capital Delhi in the early hours of Friday. A three-storey building in Pul Mithai area suddenly collapsed at around 2 am, causing panic in the entire area. A 46-year-old man has died in this incident.
According to the information, three shops were located under this building, which dealt with suitcases, bags and tarpaulins. Warehouses were built on the first floor. At the time of the accident, a truck parked under the building also came under the debris and was badly damaged. Metro construction work was also going on nearby.
Confirming the incident, Delhi Police said, “At around 1:55 pm, the police control room received information about the collapse of the building located at Bara Hindu Rao in Tokri Walaan of Pul Mithai. After this the police team reached the spot. Fire brigade, NDRF, DDMA and forensic crime teams were also immediately called to the spot.”
Relief and rescue work was started on a war footing. The rescue team pulled out a person in critical condition from the debris, who was immediately taken to Hindu Rao Hospital. Doctors declared him dead.

Relief and rescue work continued till Friday morning. In the morning pictures, two machines were seen removing the debris. No one else is reported to be injured in this incident. After the incident, the police have registered a case under sections of BNS. At present, investigation is going on to find out the cause of the accident.
