29 Naxalites killed in encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker

Security forces have achieved major success before the first phase of Lok Sabha election voting in Kanker, Chhattisgarh. On Tuesday afternoon, there was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in the forest area of Chhotabethiya police station area of Kanker district, in which 29 Naxalites were killed. BSF has so far recovered bodies of 29 Naxalites.

Bastar Range Inspector General of Police Sundar Raj P. told reporters that there was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Mand area of Chhota Bethia police station area. 29 Maoists have been killed in this encounter. Besides, a large quantity of sophisticated weapons including several AK 47s and machine guns have also been recovered.

It has been told that on Tuesday, security forces had received information about the presence of Naxalites in Mand area. On the same basis, the security forces had gone on searching. State Deputy CM Vijay Sharma said that a large number of Naxalites have been killed. I want to congratulate the security forces personnel. We all are working under the leadership of CM Vishnudev Sai. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is giving us guidance. Whatever is necessary will be done…there will be no laxity…every possible effort will be made for a Naxal-free Bastar in the times to come. The government is ready for talks. A solution should be found through dialogue and discussion and there should be peace in Bastar.
