मध्य प्रदेश के खरगोन जिले में फूड पॉइजनिंग से 250 तोतों की मौत
Two hundred parrots die of food poisoning in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district. Officials said on Friday that at least 200 parrots have died of food poisoning along the banks of the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district. They said that the carcasses of the parrots were found near a bridge along the river in the Barwah area over the past four days, and the post-mortem report ruled out bird flu as the cause of death.
District Wildlife Warden Tony Sharma said that some parrots were found alive during the rescue operation, but the poison in their food was so potent that they died shortly afterward.
Fear of bird flu spread panic in the area, but veterinary examinations found no trace of the infection. Forest department officials have banned feeding birds near the bridge and have deployed staff to ensure strict compliance. Officials said that samples of the birds’ internal organs have been sent to Jabalpur for further testing.
