The recovery of arms and ammunition looted by security forces in Manipur continues, officials said, adding that the joint forces on Wednesday recovered eight sophisticated weapons, 112 different types of ammunition and a large quantity of explosives.

Police in Imphal said eight sophisticated weapons, 112 different types of ammunition and a large quantity of explosives were recovered from Bishnupur and Imphal West districts.

Security forces also bulldozed six illegal bunkers built by the attackers in Tengnoupal district, bordering Myanmar. Intermittent firing from the attackers was also reported from different districts, but there was no report of any casualty.

Police officials said personnel of the Narcotics and Border Affairs Wing seized some medicines in Imphal East district. Those detained are residents of Manipur and Assam.
